Jerome R. Goldstein: Active in Business and Philanthropic Communities
A longtime leader in the New York City financial community, Jerome R. Goldstein was a founding partner of Bear Stearns & Co. He oversaw strategic planning, including the firm’s successful effort to go public and expand across the country through a regional office system. After retiring from active firm management duties, Jerome R. Goldstein continued to inform corporate vision as managing director.
Having served as class president at Dartmouth College, Mr. Goldstein has stayed active with his alma mater for decades. He chaired the Dartmouth Parents Fund and led its fundraising and investment activities. He also endowed the Dartmouth Distinguished Teaching Award and the institution’s Award for Distinguished Creative or Scholarly Achievement. He received the Dartmouth Alumni Award for funding Goldstein Hall, a residence dormitory building on campus.
Philanthropic efforts focused on land preservation are also key to Mr. Goldstein’s identity. He is a board member and former treasurer of the Westchester Land Trust, a nonprofit that helps address overdevelopment issues before they impact people’s lives. Jerome R. Goldstein enjoys outdoor activities such as horticulture and gardening during his free time.
